Listening is something I find that most people, myself included, don't do very well or even at all when it comes to praying. Like I have only a couple times, outside of prayer alone with God...experienced over 30 seconds of silence to allow God to speak back when praying with others. Rarely, if ever, have I experienced to simply go into prayer just to hear from God with a church or group of believers.  Most times its to tell him the Lord's Prayer, remind Him of how dope He is, and to make some requests or confessions.

Do you all have similar experiences, at church or in the midst of two or three?
I love Jesus so much, and lately, I been just sitting and waiting more often. Just to give him room to speak.  I listened to a Sermon by Paul Washer and when he was younger seeking God, he said he sat in the prayer position and just waited for hours each day, in the summer, until finally God spoke to Him.  I found that inspiring.  I'm making a conscious decision to give God time to speak first, and last when I lead a prayer from now on. At least 30 seconds. Before and after. (I'll let you all know what happens)

How do you all go about listening to God, or just listening in general?  I'd love to hear your pointers.
