The amount of times the bible talks about great men of God getting up early before dawn and meeting with the Lord before starting their day is pretty eye opening. The fact that the great men that God used in the past all practiced this same routine is no coincidence and I believe we too should implement this today. Men like Jesus, Abraham, Moses, David, and the list goes on all incorporated this practice for a reason. When you get up early and get right into God’s presence you give yourself the opportunity to equip the armor of God before you even come into contact with the enemy. Also by filling yourself up with God’s word and praying to Him early in the morning, it also allows God to fill you with His Holy Spirit which allows you to be able to pour out into the people around you at work, school, etc with a fresh refill from God. We know that we need constant renewal and filling from the Lord because if we just constantly pour out we will run empty. We need the Lord to recharge us and renew us and thats why it’s so beneficial to us that this occurs first thing in the morning before we start our day.

I will say that there is definitely something about being in God’s presence prior to sunrise that brings about a sense of laser focus that allows you to get more of the bible down and it’s almost as if God’s voice becomes louder. Most likely because you have nothing on your mind yet and you’re freshly rejuvenated from sleep. I also think that sunrise makes us start to think about our day and what we have going on. When it’s still dark outside during your time with God, it allows you to meet with God, 1 on 1, with no distractions. You give it a try and let me know your experience. I recommend partaking in the 5 AM club, but the key is that we need to be in our word before we start off our day. Whether it’s 5 AM, 6 AM, 5:30 AM so be it. Getting up early every morning does require a sacrifice but that sacrifice comes with many blessings. God bless men, let’s rise up!
